i decided that a change of pace may be just what i need to get those creative waves flowing. so, eldest and i hauled all the stamp stuff out to the front porch. i have a 8 foot table set up which is perfect for stamping. lots of room, everything laid out easily seen and we can enjoy the out of doors. at the last stamp class, this image was used. it's 'winds of grace' which i have since discovered is a retired su set. i loved the images and stamped two sheets of whisper white with sail boats and light houses (having no idea what i would do with them) so that i could create more cards. the image was inked with night of navy and stippled with the same.
after perusing the web, i found this design. the netting is made with needle and thread that is worked through the ten holes on side and bottom.
it took us most of the afternoon, but we ended up with three delightful cards.
we're at it again today, so hopefully our speed will increase with practice!

Caroline - this is really lovely. I love the net effect and thanks for posting the 'how to's.'
This is great too because it could be used for a man. i have so few stamps that are masculine - I always love seeing cards that are gender neutral! Glad to hear you are in summer stamping mode. Tell Linden I say hi. Keep posting. Also, I can't wait to see the Amuse image you guys get and what you do with it.
Too bad we don't like so far away, it would be fun to spend an afternoon crafting together!
