I was not-so-gently poked that it had been a very long time since I had posted on my blog. I post all the time...... oh wait, on another platform. It would have been so easy to look at the amount of time since my last update (that would be July) and rationalize that it was best to let it go. Sadly that is just not something I could do. So here we go.....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhivdADM_DeQQEzQxHsoRxHpXbdsQWgEUAuVc-1L0BfHbu1hM9C3nzasJ-SgSoDsqvL2fh4FHAlki_zE65z9ojchlhfQZr_-b4f7nwgejxSE9tksvqol0694FDbgb35f2wOBSX1wqYWFpU4/s1600/IMG_1665.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="716" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhivdADM_DeQQEzQxHsoRxHpXbdsQWgEUAuVc-1L0BfHbu1hM9C3nzasJ-SgSoDsqvL2fh4FHAlki_zE65z9ojchlhfQZr_-b4f7nwgejxSE9tksvqol0694FDbgb35f2wOBSX1wqYWFpU4/s320/IMG_1665.JPG" width="238" /></a></div>

Our time with Sunny came to an end in July. We took her back to the 'mothership' (read here <a href="https://www.guidingeyes.org/">Guiding Eyes for the Blind</a>) for In For Training evaluation. Sitting in the audience watching her go through the process was an amazing experience. All those hours we spent with her came down to a 20 minute assessment.... and she passed. They mentioned something about 'breed eval' but we didn't pay too much attention only to get notified a few days later that she had been chosen. The head of the breeding program watches every IFT looking at lineage, qualities in the pup, etc. choosing whose genetics they want passed on. It seems that Sunny had what they wanted so she is now living with a foster family waiting to go into season for breeding. I expect we'll find out soon how she is doing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

With Sunny on her way, we got this little gal to work with~ meet Tavi<br />

What about fiber ?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Went to Rhinebeck with my peeps. It was a whirlwind of fleece, fiber, yarn and fun. This is hard to believe but I really didn't come home with lots. Roving from<a href="https://intothewhirled.com/"> Into the Whirled</a>, some weaving gadgets and lots of ideas. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I joined the Holiday KAL with Artyarns. Everything about this project spoke to me..... the colors, yarn, beads, pattern. I love every minute of knitting it. I've worn it several times which makes me pleased that it is not just draped over a chair. Since that was so much fun it was easy to fall down for this....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Find your fade. I'm a bit late to this party. I missed all the hoopla when this first started and saw one finished at a guild meeting. It is ginormous. I popped it on and fell in love. An off-hand comment to a friend about splitting a kit was remembered. We waited for <a href="https://www.missbabs.com/collections/find-your-fade">Miss Bab's t</a>o have her end of year sale and Bam! it was ours. Neither of us really read the pattern until we had ordered the kit, and discovered that we would need to be creative with our division of the yarn. we each added an additional skein and one that we divided with the rest. There is a lot of mindless knitting (garter stitch) and also patches of lace. I have to wait for the mindless parts to make it my travel knitting. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The pup loves to walk each and every morning. Before dawn in the morning. No matter what the temperature or snow fall amount, she is ready to go. I was battling frozen fingers until I got smart enough to make myself mittens. I rooted around in the stash and found some chunky handspun, I used small needles to get a super tight fabric and voila ~ </div>

This is my bag of fiber from the next <a href="http://www.gvhg.org/">GVHG</a> exchange project. Those that wanted to play along brought in 4 ounces of roving which was divided into 8- 1/2 ounce balls. we grouped them all onto a large table and randomly filled bags with 8 pieces to again have 4 ounces of roving. Every bag had one white and one gray neutral, the remainder was just a hodgepodge of colors. I took my cue from another spinner and divided them into 4 warms and 4 cools, spinning each and plying them together.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

it turned out better than I had planned. I've got ample yardage to make the<a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/that-nice-stitch"> pattern</a> so I may make it a bit wider. </div>
<div>
Whew. that brings me up to date. I'm sure I missed a few things along the way ( at least one sweater and another wrap) so I'll add them in the future. And I'll try not to let another six months just past me.</div>

Then I noticed that I was spinning every day. Put it down to fun new fiber that I've gotten from <a href="https://www.countessablaze.com/">Countess Ablaze</a> that has completely tickled my fancy. Soon it struck me that as I was reading #badwolfyarn posting on Instagram, I too was participating. I tried to let it go, but of course that was impossible, and I'm spinning along. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The skein on the right - Nerd's prefer their rainbows darker- just needed to be plied. Stardust - on the left- was partially spun and done before I knew it.</div>

I still needed bright, happy colors so I got this one started. Heart's Beguilement - completely and utterly not in my color comfort zone! I made sure that I purchased outside the box... way outside. Each one has spun into lovely yarn that is not at all what I expected it to be. So onward I go...spinning in the tour!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've finished several knitting projects, this one is my absolute favorite. It's yarn I purchased this year in Mary-land and cast right on. I finished the sweater just as the weather turned to summer( as I kept predicting) so it's waiting for fall. I love the pattern so much that (this will not be a surprise to anyone who knows me) I cast on another.....</div>

Bartlett yarn in a dark, charcoal grey. It's heavy, coarse and rugged. hopefully will become my go to, dog walking, working outside, sweater. it's been a b)&%h to have on my lap now that it's eighty outside, but I'm pushing on.</div>

Also finished this group project. Several special fiber friends started a knit-a-long. we traded hanks of yarn and even though I kept insisting this was not my colorway... even as it matched every outfit I had on whilst knitting. </div>

I anticipate this trip more and more each year. To get away with fiber folk, discover new projects, patterns, techniques, re-fill the fiber stash.....it just doesn't get old. The weather was dismal. Wind, rain and chilly temperatures probably kept some at bay, but our car full was determined to enjoy every last minute. <br />

we enjoyed dinner at a stellar veggie friendly, gluten free restaurant the Kathy had visited before. I know, those restrictions sound like we would be left with a lettuce leaf to eat, but the menu was extensive and the meals..... well, lets just say we ate there Saturday night as well : )<br />

We arrived at the fairgrounds close to opening, not sure what the new admission charge would mean in terms of lines and waiting. We got right in and made our way to the vendors that we considered as 'must see'. First stop was Into the Whirled. Last year our little travel group purchased the same colorway in roving with the plan to knit the same pattern. We did (surprisingly enough) and decided it was a tradition worth keeping. Heirloom Ornamental is on the horizon for 2018. after that major decision and purchase, we all wandered on. I found myself at the basket ladies holding choosing between two that I swore I did not need and would not buy. So at least I had something to <strike>fill </strike>carry. Last year my friend purchased a lovely woven wrap. I debated and decided that it was something I did not need to add to my wardrobe. This year it was a different story. <br />
<a href="http://www.jesamiehandwovens.com/">jesamie handwovens</a> creates stunning works of wearable art and I left with one. With those tasks out of the way, I wandered about taking my time to enjoy each part of the show.<br />
we finished the day cold, wet and weary..... ready to get into our jammies and .....<br />

It seems that in showing the fleece sale to our travel companion they talked each other into splitting one. So... what do we do for fun on a Saturday night?</div>

What can I say.... it's how we go. We enjoyed a quiet morning at the festival and I believe it was even colder. I had a moment and came home with yarn for two sweaters and <a href="https://www.dragonflyfibers.com/">Dragonfly Fibers</a> exclusive festival colorway. </div>

I'm weaving along on the tencel shawl. That pretty much stays in place, so I tend to work on it when the light is good in the morning. With the time change, that will be afternoon so progress may slow down.<br />
I've discovered a way to make knitting on the Targetty fun. I'm at the point where there are over 300 stitches and the repetition of the pattern is slaying me. How you ask, did I make it fun?<br />

by visiting microbreweries! Now I'm a wine gal through and through, so there has been a learning curve with this. My partner has wanted to do the happy hour at <a href="https://www.3brotherswinery.com/war-horse-brewing-co/">3 brother's brewery</a> at the mall. Last week we finally made our schedules work and had a delightful time sharing a flight. We chatted, sipped a variety of brews and I even got a dinner out! We enjoyed it so much we tried another today..</div>

<a href="https://www.twistedrailbrewing.com/">Twisted Rail brewery</a> on Canandaigua Lake. Locals will remember it as the Maur House next to Roseland Park. As you can see, I'm making progress on this baby. We shared a flight of dark beer ( my favorite) and both agreed that we preferred the selections at 3bro's. This may become a weekly outing. Flights are about $7 and it's plenty for us to share. Today we could sit in the wintery sun and look out at the rolling lake. And while my partner was all relaxed and agreeable, I negotiated help with this...</div>

Finally finished the sheep pillow that I started on the way home from Maryland. I just didn't like any of the pre made pillow forms, so I bought a pillow. It was a tich big (like way toooo big) so I needed another set of hands to stitch it.</div>

I was able to find a ride for them and sent them along. Completely not the season, but they will be ready when the next holiday arrives.<br />

I got another request for some hats and got lots of knitting done at piano lessons and the recital. Our <a href="https://www.guidingeyes.org/">guiding eyes for the blind puppy</a> has progressed to the stage where she settles nicely for periods of time. She had been my companion at places where lots of knitting is getting done. </div>

getting lots of knitting done while riding along with the learning driver. parallel parking- check, k-turn- check. a bit more road experience and road test is in the future. It was much easier second time around. </div>

Finished the Miss Babs February weave-a-long embarrassed to admit that I never got it going until the end of the month. When I realized that I had less than a week to get it finished, I was motivated to finish it. The end product is even lovelier than I hoped for. I've worn it and find it very comfortable. The scarf from the last weave a long is too narrow and a bit short. I used one skein for the entire project and this time I used two. As soon as it come off I was itching to put another project on......</div>

Amythefibergoddess had some odd sized skeins of tencel, so at the end of a dye day we tossed some color on them. I was anxious to try the new techniques that I learned at the guild program from Jaye and this was a perfect opportunity to try them out.</div>

Jaye uses slats from mini blinds instead of paper on the back beam. I found them at Walmart in the correct width for under three dollars. The hardest part was pulling those dang things apart. I used every single one with this warp. The other piece of advice was how to tie the warp threads to the front beam.......</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5ZaKdT4UTpiwJgtUxY_JU0Sj5XN1Hr2q8aB7Y0AO7qXsm4Vo9v_KLfmJkgqo_wgOqfm7Tt0sko7BuYrnGc9IjMFk1QCbNn5t813Z4lfoB3qpXZCYuhNZnfZR-qRfmVs39UAzn0ZCNwIM6/s1600/IMG_1951.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5ZaKdT4UTpiwJgtUxY_JU0Sj5XN1Hr2q8aB7Y0AO7qXsm4Vo9v_KLfmJkgqo_wgOqfm7Tt0sko7BuYrnGc9IjMFk1QCbNn5t813Z4lfoB3qpXZCYuhNZnfZR-qRfmVs39UAzn0ZCNwIM6/s1600/IMG_1951.JPG" /></a></div>

I borrowed Jaye's handy device to make the proper sized strings....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0h9xe9yUnQLqmm-yDycBu_u2KZULJeqOl-oAUuhCudCTUYicomvx09BcNX-ORKh1YZof2vdXnvBlrz2tY1dOBaYWbT-mxGgyngGq1fRUdT4GRVdavoVypOvpoqh-eR1LZ_eiqAlUASio1/s1600/IMG_1971.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0h9xe9yUnQLqmm-yDycBu_u2KZULJeqOl-oAUuhCudCTUYicomvx09BcNX-ORKh1YZof2vdXnvBlrz2tY1dOBaYWbT-mxGgyngGq1fRUdT4GRVdavoVypOvpoqh-eR1LZ_eiqAlUASio1/s1600/IMG_1971.JPG" /></a></div>
<div>
and it works like a dream. I've tried this in the past, but didn't completely understand the technique and really did need that handy dandy tool to measure the string. Not knowing how many I would need, I made 100. Yes, one hundred. I may have gotten carried away.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I finished this little wrap. The <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/blt-scarf-shawl">BLT scarf</a> was a quick knit. I added the beads and they give it a nice touch. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The Targetty scarf is zipping right along. I treated myself to the yarn when I was at the Artisan Market last month. The yarn is from the <a href="https://www.walkcollection.com/en/">Walk Collection</a> in Cosmic Chaos. Several years ago when we were vacationing in Cape Anne, I visited a yarn shop where I was introduced to this yarn. I wanted to see ( and touch) it in person and it took this long. I did not want this to settle into the stash, so I purchased the pattern and cast on. It is rolling right along, enough of a pattern to keep it interesting as I near the end.</div>
<div>
There is more fiber on the wheel, the loom warped and ready to go and this scarf to finish. With these rainy days I hope to see much progress.</div>

February is officially here and I'm still waiting for winter. I love a good old-fashioned snow storm that lasts for days leaving lots of white snow... enough to romp in, go sledding, coat the yard white. So far this winter has been a bust. Yes, we've had a few snowy moments, but mostly mud. There are 12 paws that live in my house and that means lots of floor mopping. It's enough to drive someone to knit! I've reverted to knitting elves. again. I just can't stop. Such a quick and easy project to do ... and such a nice gift. My sister commented many times over our family celebration how much she would love to have one. Really, one? I'm well on my way to having another family done.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is some lovely yarn, I think it's Malabrigo worsted, that I won in the recent guild auction. No tag and already in a ball it was perfect for an elf. and to save my sanity. As we entered the new year, my dishwasher (love it like a child) started to make some funky noises and was missing some spots. I took it apart, cleaned filters, ran the cleaner..... all with limited success. Mentioned it in passing to my partner and soon found myself <strike>trapped</strike> visiting stores to compare modes. We (and I use this term loosely) decided that it would be a simple homeowner project to swap them out. </div>

All was going well until we discovered that the mounting brackets did not line up with the existing holes in the counter top. The granite counter top. Five drill bits later it should be finished tonight. Then the screws need to set for 24 hours and washing can resume. My hands are never good in the winter and this has just about sent them over the edge. I will say that every family member has taken many turns in the dishpan, and we can't wait to get this new one going!</div>

Snagged some great Yummy 2-ply in Maryland this year so this was a perfect reason to warp the loom. Sadly this picture does not show the lovely colors of the yarn, so I'll get a better one soon. </div>

This is an accurate picture of the yarn that I'm casting on next. Got a knitting request from my cousin. I love when someone in my family asked for a knitted item. She wants a bright pink hat, well really she wants two.... one for her and one for her daughter. I had no bright pink in the stash and could not find any online. Thank goodness for amythefibergoddess. We dyed several skeins and I snagged the two brightest. Can't wait to cast these on!<div>

Last night I found myself agreeing to go to Lowes to 'browse' with my partner. Not only do I detest going to Lowes, browsing there is like being tortured. Yet, I went willingly, even pawed through the clearance holiday racks for lights, bulbs and new snow. yikes!!<br />
This morning I resolved to turn it around, find the fun! <br />

Even though I'm at the half way point, it don't feel like I'm getting any where at all!!!!<br />

not hard or tooooo monotonous, I just find that if there is a bit of distraction there is a fair amount of fixing. so what have I been doing instead?<br />
this came off the loom and made my heart happy<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFvJ2WZC1YTcpNxKisw4yzEOWFKqhODWrBkobKQUmQQm-1RA_DL_KXqf5EU1wxKuVzRLkLm7C_c832kJpxT4p6qMwlV3IP55CMiYAHq94SVg-Lb2Uc5IEAVRJhXlgH3W7yuv1Py54jNWPw/s1600/IMG_1716.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFvJ2WZC1YTcpNxKisw4yzEOWFKqhODWrBkobKQUmQQm-1RA_DL_KXqf5EU1wxKuVzRLkLm7C_c832kJpxT4p6qMwlV3IP55CMiYAHq94SVg-Lb2Uc5IEAVRJhXlgH3W7yuv1Py54jNWPw/s1600/IMG_1716.JPG" /></a></div>
<div>
I've resorted to using the yard decorations for models. After asking for all sorts of opinions on how and what to warp the loom with, I used two different colors that seemed very close. one is striped (warp) the other was a muted solid in a close color. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvXfmVUBK3RBgj2Mr-2xx8LVnd3o4vzuO98c9PDyzax8JK8I8icZNXJnh8X0S0qhwxpZTcvkfzf79S3FyDYqWCToPtc05IMxq1CMZMC96Zj8xKanjmyoKSEfpadgySf9zDJtDuIbm2dmHS/s1600/IMG_1717.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvXfmVUBK3RBgj2Mr-2xx8LVnd3o4vzuO98c9PDyzax8JK8I8icZNXJnh8X0S0qhwxpZTcvkfzf79S3FyDYqWCToPtc05IMxq1CMZMC96Zj8xKanjmyoKSEfpadgySf9zDJtDuIbm2dmHS/s1600/IMG_1717.JPG" /></a></div>
<div>
this is a more accurate expression of the colors. totally dig that vibrant green nestled in the dark purple. The yarn is a discontinued line from Blue Moon. BFL fingering that is surprisingly soft. I am so tempted to warp the remainder, but... still got that cowl to knit. I even resorted to spinning....</div>

Christmas was just right. snow on the ground, family and friends gathered, and time to finish up lots of fiber projects. believe me, I was thrilled that those naughty elves (and my addiction to them) had run it's course. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDy6pxLWi2peT_cPHreVrbcKRqC-P4Njnx4fEBcfe-2eEF8mGizBjQw3lZvWBM2IrsWEniNXGTJ7CZbyLVOO2fsu45_6jLcS35D1-3hjRNBgxLM3zqxyx9YeUfgmj00lHX75clmCh2ddu1/s1600/IMG_1703.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDy6pxLWi2peT_cPHreVrbcKRqC-P4Njnx4fEBcfe-2eEF8mGizBjQw3lZvWBM2IrsWEniNXGTJ7CZbyLVOO2fsu45_6jLcS35D1-3hjRNBgxLM3zqxyx9YeUfgmj00lHX75clmCh2ddu1/s1600/IMG_1703.JPG" /></a></div>

This finally came off the loom. it was taking forever to do because it's over 7 feet long. I must have wanted it to be long enough to wrap many, many times around my neck. My fringe was easy to complete with my handy fringe winder. What a great addition to the fiber tools. if you are ever thinking of getting one, do it! the fiber is: stone edge fibers in shades of grey. Did I mention that it's her cashmere blend? </div>
<div>
With an empty loom, I had to get another warped. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-e29bMu5UNU2VFECVmbUywV6AvlYdN4Gqr5ze-on3J5G-ABMV01s-ut696wVwBTIPNRVt-Q6xk4k3hRthSpoTv87MJ6pz12vP2xcQtlIc1Vx4Swum7V0C7A7ITD8Mb0-7S3y3blkiWnXG/s1600/IMG_1701.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-e29bMu5UNU2VFECVmbUywV6AvlYdN4Gqr5ze-on3J5G-ABMV01s-ut696wVwBTIPNRVt-Q6xk4k3hRthSpoTv87MJ6pz12vP2xcQtlIc1Vx4Swum7V0C7A7ITD8Mb0-7S3y3blkiWnXG/s1600/IMG_1701.JPG" /></a></div>
<div>
the picture is terrible, but it is Blue moon fiber, BFL fingering in dark shades. I would love to tell you what the colorway is, but someone (with four paws and red fur) ate the tags. never hurts the fiber, just loves the tags. so, I'm going with dark shades! I made this quite wide so it can function as a wrap or a scarf. the best part was using the new technique my friend Jaye taught me. It worked like a charm and the warp tension is just perfect!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've got a new knitting project on the needles. The <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/manic-panic-cowl">manic panic cowl</a>. I have thirteen small skeins of varying yarns so I know it will match every coat I own. I'm on skein 5, so just need to keep slogging along.</div>
<div>
I do have one project left from last year, the sheep pillow kit that I purchased in Maryland. I dug it out during the holiday cleaning frenzy and made it through the tough part while I was<strike> trapped</strike> waiting at Ontario Honda for a service. Solid 90 minutes of knitting with zero distractions. Now to keep up the momentum.</div>
<div>
I'm looking forward to see what fabulous fiber stuff awaits me in 2017. I promise to keep the blog up to date : )</div>

I decided to use up the rest of the worsted weight yarn that I originally purchased for them. Then I had to make 'just one more'.......</div>

This is the current batch. There is one missing from the photo (it's living in my honey's office). And there is the one that is currently on my needles. Several are being gifted and the remainder will be the hearth decoration. I've got to get another knitting project!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

amythefibergoddess to the rescue. Not only could she identify the yarn, she even had some left. I came right home and with a bit of help....</div>

got back into the groove. my little fiber pup was under my feet as I was balling the skein and wrapping the shuttle. I kept dropping it or the ball of yarn on her and she would not leave her warm, snuggly pad. I hope to get this scarf done. it seems the more I work on it, the longer it gets. With the holiday approaching I promised to make some space and get this loom out. I may be working on this until the new year.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

I admit.... I shuddered when I saw the last blog post was July. sigh. no going back, no excuses, so just some catch-up. The endless warmth of summer carried over into fall and it took me forever to get my knitting mojo back. The Finger Lakes Fiber Festival was another wonderful event. It keeps getting better each year, and it is completely because of the volunteers who dedicate so much time and talent. The guild display was the Noro-shawl knit along. A wall full of stunning creations that festival attendees could vote for their favorite. There always is a run-away winner and this year is was amythefibergoddess. I will admit (and it's no secret) that she put a lot of thought into this project and is often the case, dragged me along! We spun the Hemlock Reserve in polworth silk for our main color and she dyed complimentary colors to match. she chose the oranger shades and I went with the greens. The top four winners were announced at the most recent guild meeting and prizes awarded. I came in a distant second to amy, but was thrilled to be in such great company!<br />

We made the annual trek to Rhinebeck, this year with two newbies. It was an absolute delight to travel and spend the weekend with fiber-pals. I found some great treasures-yarn from ITW (which I've never used) and their stunning roving. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We squeezed some fun during those last fall days, spending the afternoon on the Medina railroad for their wine train. <br />

we visited the train museum and stopped at Spring lake winery on the return trip for dinner and a tasting. lots of knitting time on the train when I wasn't enjoying the stunning scenery. I still haven't finished that shawl because we've been busy with this.....<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

poor Etta started limping around Halloween. Wasn't sure what it was, but suspected a torn CL. The vet confirmed my suspicions and surgery was scheduled. Then she had a vicious reaction to the meds resulting in delaying the procedure. When she finally had it done, we found out that the injury was worse than we had expected with quite a bit of arthritis already in the joint. We obeyed the strict cage restrictions for two week post-op and are half-way through the extremely limited activity. Soon she can start building up that leg muscle with walks. So, our pup in training....<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

has been at the region coordinators. being back to two canines has been an interesting adjustment. I keep looking for miss sunbeam. The good news for fiber is that I've been knitting like a lunatic. Forced crate rest = cage sitting!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've got two more small ones in the works and then it may have run the course. Now that the holidays are here, floor space is at a premium so I've been trying to empty my looms. I completed the cotton dish towels and almost finished this scarf....<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

and ran out of yarn. I'm optimistic that stone edge fibers may have the other skein that I need. </div>

That brings me up to date so I'll try to stay there!</div>

We usually try to choose a day that not only works into our schedules, but is a tad bit cooler. Of course with this summer, that is impossible! She had a plan to start with the yarn that would be come a sample shawl. Having had so much fun knitting<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/reyna"> Reyna</a>, I jumped at the chance to knit another. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PigzbB5tgbQ/V5LB6UU3zKI/AAAAAAAAD-Y/qAA06wjGJZ8UoDA9VfO786dE2HalMWIjQCKgB/s1600/IMG_1472.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PigzbB5tgbQ/V5LB6UU3zKI/AAAAAAAAD-Y/qAA06wjGJZ8UoDA9VfO786dE2HalMWIjQCKgB/s1600/IMG_1472.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
It is intimidating to look at all that empty yarn and see the color. Thank goodness that is not my job! We start with a set of colors, then more get added in..... or taken out and before you know it there is a bucket of beauty.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JY_kuZRi7QM/V5LB6csR7mI/AAAAAAAAD-Y/Yh04Z_Bw4lMLg5WMvR_WSq7s5GXJa05OwCKgB/s1600/IMG_1474.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JY_kuZRi7QM/V5LB6csR7mI/AAAAAAAAD-Y/Yh04Z_Bw4lMLg5WMvR_WSq7s5GXJa05OwCKgB/s1600/IMG_1474.JPG" /></a></div>
Since I was knitting the sample, I got first dibs on the skein that sang to me...<br />

maryland was a blast! i always hope that my memories of the past year don't outshine the experience. they did not. my travel companions were a new mix this year and we all got on fabulously. i came home with fiber, weaving tools, weaving yarn and a basket. can't wait until next year.<br />
the month went by in a blur and i was packing the family for a trip to new england. my biggest decision were knitting projects. i still had that blasted noro shawl to finish and new that being trapped in the car was probably the only way that sucker was getting done!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c9lBxtX5f6E/V4kjF-OK_oI/AAAAAAAAD9I/UrwAcXGhdfQlUZ3T_m2uLd0Er-zlXk3EgCKgB/s1600/IMG_1368.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c9lBxtX5f6E/V4kjF-OK_oI/AAAAAAAAD9I/UrwAcXGhdfQlUZ3T_m2uLd0Er-zlXk3EgCKgB/s1600/IMG_1368.JPG" /></a></div>
we spent several days on martha's vineyard and may basket went everywhere. i kept knitting .....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4IGDoRxhgWQ/V4kjFOCwRqI/AAAAAAAAD9I/yMBaThZ8jnYUph8FKxE0-1FfNV4vYYxQACKgB/s1600/IMG_1369.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4IGDoRxhgWQ/V4kjFOCwRqI/AAAAAAAAD9I/yMBaThZ8jnYUph8FKxE0-1FfNV4vYYxQACKgB/s1600/IMG_1369.JPG" /></a></div>
and knitting.......<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4PW7yDHmGho/V4kjFMTPQgI/AAAAAAAAD9I/mEXDGr-BzWwvGSZudDKrJziRpYaB20QswCKgB/s1600/IMG_1380.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4PW7yDHmGho/V4kjFMTPQgI/AAAAAAAAD9I/mEXDGr-BzWwvGSZudDKrJziRpYaB20QswCKgB/s1600/IMG_1380.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
and finished just as we were boarding the ferry to come home. full disclosure, i spent time working on a few other projects to keep myself from pitching the thing into the ocean. i started <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/wrapknot/reyna">reyna</a> with a tube of fiber optics cashmere gradient. i also worked on a <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/wrapknot/tulips-a-colorful-cardigan-for-baby-2">tulip baby sweater</a> and even a kit that i got at msw.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZWyWPKqV66GZRkKLyCIQpaJtAGjpB6ZPxSEOob8xhqJ741tugXXf4c31E8G4rLNQlaCao-ZW7Vc_q6lHPsmmE8epontsF9Azxz4qoi9UEygVuJKp1II5rdHa9ItwjRH-WbgQxhCZUoQr0/s1600/IMG_1381.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZWyWPKqV66GZRkKLyCIQpaJtAGjpB6ZPxSEOob8xhqJ741tugXXf4c31E8G4rLNQlaCao-ZW7Vc_q6lHPsmmE8epontsF9Azxz4qoi9UEygVuJKp1II5rdHa9ItwjRH-WbgQxhCZUoQr0/s1600/IMG_1381.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
the trip was a prelude to a wedding in providence, rhode island. the event was lovely..... and outdoor wedding at <a href="http://www.addieville.com/">addieville farm</a>. you just never know what the weather goddess may challenge you with, but it couldn't have been nicer. <br />
we no sooner got home and sunny arrived. who's sunny?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P-VBaZ2Nl8Y/V4kjFrmav5I/AAAAAAAAD9I/atsndFJa-vwIBVlOv6J8LAH9FPs0cuBmgCKgB/s1600/IMG_1394.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P-VBaZ2Nl8Y/V4kjFrmav5I/AAAAAAAAD9I/atsndFJa-vwIBVlOv6J8LAH9FPs0cuBmgCKgB/s1600/IMG_1394.JPG" /></a></div>
sunny is a <a href="https://www.guidingeyes.org/">Guiding Eyes for the Blind</a> puppy. after much consideration, applications, home visitations, training classes, puppy-sitting...... we became a puppy raising family. my youngest is the primary raiser, but it takes a village to make this work. we attend weekly classes, and every moment is a teachable moment in dog raising. she goes everywhere with us. everywhere. socialization is a big focus during the months we have her. getting her used to every day experiences, places, situations, smells, sounds, you name it! so if you see us out and about, ask for an introduction!<br />
so far the yarn and fiber have not been of big interest. she did find a skein, but i chose to take that as a suggestion to start a project. i cast on <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/wrapknot/quaker-yarn-stretcher-boomerang">quaker yarn stretcher boomerang</a>. i'm not sure what the yarn is, that tag was enjoyed by the other canines in the house. i love the way this is coming out and i know i'll be making many of these.<br />
so there i am... up to date.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

i'm still weaving. i bought some cotton in maryland and the plan is for towels. i've got to find time to sit and get them done. i'm also very quietly participating in the tour-de-fleece. my only goal is to spin every single day. it may only be for five minutes, but so far the goal is being met.wrapknothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07524914719420225748noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439053855897840810.post-54326373966247616392016-04-12T12:22:00.003-04:002016-04-12T12:22:55.732-04:00not much to showi've got a project on the loom that i just can't seem to finish. i know the reason is that i have not been working on it! yikes..... i've been working on a stealth knitting project that is finally completed. it was not complicated, just had a deadline. as does this weaving project.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7PzEDDrshAI/VwxWOqoJ14I/AAAAAAAAD7w/VQvStIXGPDcMc82ipj69HgyGeX__G1Png/s1600/IMG_1244.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7PzEDDrshAI/VwxWOqoJ14I/AAAAAAAAD7w/VQvStIXGPDcMc82ipj69HgyGeX__G1Png/s1600/IMG_1244.JPG" /></a></div>
i was wandering around in the stash and found this lovely yarn. by the amount i had purcashed, i must have been thinking sweater. well, it's going to be a poncho. i have it on my larger loom warped to the brim!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-w9kOQISLXsA/VwxWOvtTMkI/AAAAAAAAD7o/iXx7Eg4glLU0IBcQJO_jVOjBID088zXtg/s1600/IMG_1246.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-w9kOQISLXsA/VwxWOvtTMkI/AAAAAAAAD7o/iXx7Eg4glLU0IBcQJO_jVOjBID088zXtg/s1600/IMG_1246.JPG" /></a></div>
i totally hope that what i want to use this for will by unnessecary. what is it? well, the trip to mary-land of course. the last several years have been cool (at least by my standards) and this will be perfect to toss on in the morning and in the damp barns. so watch.... this is the year that it's in the 90's. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_-eBSMsf8NE/VwxWOtr5tkI/AAAAAAAAD70/Q8eChHGEwQoUihK0sNeJbFYJlw199GEVA/s1600/IMG_1243.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_-eBSMsf8NE/VwxWOtr5tkI/AAAAAAAAD70/Q8eChHGEwQoUihK0sNeJbFYJlw199GEVA/s1600/IMG_1243.JPG" /></a></div>
i finished the spinning for the guild knit-a-long and cast it on last night. i'm not completely sold on this.......<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-b0KSQw9sPLU/Vw0X_0Ed0jI/AAAAAAAAD8E/0OUWnryc6PEfZTe5GhBs0jRJSiKlMeERA/s1600/IMG_1247.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-b0KSQw9sPLU/Vw0X_0Ed0jI/AAAAAAAAD8E/0OUWnryc6PEfZTe5GhBs0jRJSiKlMeERA/s1600/IMG_1247.JPG" /></a></div>
i'll keep going and wait for amythefibergoddess to give me her opinion. it is soft beyond belief so it is a delight to work on. the further i go, the more it reminds me of a garden..... beans, peas, carrots, beets...... need a bit more to decide.wrapknothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07524914719420225748noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439053855897840810.post-91379691096619192892016-04-05T17:56:00.000-04:002016-04-05T17:56:26.376-04:00what happened to spring....i'm going to make a concentrated effort to get my fiber stuff posted. there has not been a lot of fiber things happening, but i did have some fun. the annual 'girls weekend' took us to the lovely state of New Hampshire to my cousins cabin in the woods. they name it 'little bear cabin' after a sighting of.... you guessed it... a little bear. we didn't encounter any on our outings, but did see amazing stuff.....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GypRLaPXYII/VwPHkOS0e5I/AAAAAAAAD7I/q13iwGhu2XgA-CC190OW_lwfKbTJOMTHg/s1600/IMG_1183.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GypRLaPXYII/VwPHkOS0e5I/AAAAAAAAD7I/q13iwGhu2XgA-CC190OW_lwfKbTJOMTHg/s1600/IMG_1183.JPG" /></a></div>
the afternoon we arrived it was in the low 70's, just perfect for a hike. there were few signs of spring other than the lack of snow :) <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IP47ZGB9vko/VwPHkCoawGI/AAAAAAAAD7I/JdRBwpBAMpoYzV-Oorm_-UD4ErB8vLcRw/s1600/IMG_1185.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IP47ZGB9vko/VwPHkCoawGI/AAAAAAAAD7I/JdRBwpBAMpoYzV-Oorm_-UD4ErB8vLcRw/s1600/IMG_1185.JPG" /></a></div>
and the brightening of the trees. you could see hints of buds and the smells were amazing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wnk68rT6tPg/VwPHkE0XqBI/AAAAAAAAD7I/9z0plIFSa1kmjpVy3mAiQ0bZHQHt-Rjbw/s1600/IMG_1187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wnk68rT6tPg/VwPHkE0XqBI/AAAAAAAAD7I/9z0plIFSa1kmjpVy3mAiQ0bZHQHt-Rjbw/s1600/IMG_1187.JPG" /></a></div>
our destination was this pond with loon and beaver. you could see some activity on the trees...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VH85ln7jXjE/VwPHkV_dMiI/AAAAAAAAD7I/vbhaMxCkcq8sReKjuupUIWrEjMmxhIRCg/s1600/IMG_1190.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VH85ln7jXjE/VwPHkV_dMiI/AAAAAAAAD7I/vbhaMxCkcq8sReKjuupUIWrEjMmxhIRCg/s1600/IMG_1190.JPG" /></a></div>
several had fallen in the area, all with the same tell-tale teeth marks! we shopped in Concord and i found a charming yarn shop, <a href="http://elegantewe.com/index.php?UID=2016040517502169.207.185.255">The Elegant Ewe</a>. while the others were playing in a bookstore, i had myself a fine time in the shop. there was a wide variety of yarn, wheels, looms.... it was all there. i left with two balls of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/knitting-fever-painted-desert">knitting fever painted desert</a> laceweight for.... you guessed it weaving. i even got some knitting done on my knit-a-long poncho...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0WsNPFwQuNM/VwPHkpD6bwI/AAAAAAAAD7I/z5huXjVw_6YR36H3gEwd6dEZV4wpeC3Rw/s1600/IMG_1198.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0WsNPFwQuNM/VwPHkpD6bwI/AAAAAAAAD7I/z5huXjVw_6YR36H3gEwd6dEZV4wpeC3Rw/s1600/IMG_1198.JPG" /></a></div>
want to do it all over again!wrapknothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07524914719420225748noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439053855897840810.post-81591411893448476802016-03-21T21:14:00.001-04:002016-03-21T21:14:27.420-04:00happy springit seems that i totally missed the month of february. can't even use the usual excuse that it's a 'short'month given that it is leap year and there was an extra day. i even celebrated the 'pay-it-forward' concept of the day. what did it look like in fiber you ask?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uNJtqRz4CC0/VucwePMoYZI/AAAAAAAAD6g/iqhgoDlkBdoNco90NMkE0uitFNkB0c_Sw/s1600/IMG_1093.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uNJtqRz4CC0/VucwePMoYZI/AAAAAAAAD6g/iqhgoDlkBdoNco90NMkE0uitFNkB0c_Sw/s1600/IMG_1093.JPG" /></a></div>
i was a weaving maniac. amythefibergoddess decided that silk was missing from her fiber line-up. she acquired 10 skeins for us to play with. they dyed into stunning works of art and i wove 4 of them into scarves. it was a bit trickier than i'm used to. not much leeway for mishaps. i was able to calculate (and i use that term very loosely) it so the entire skein, all 400 yards, became a scarf.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zNqQ2VSHkps/VucweIVPhfI/AAAAAAAAD6g/fI5BqPpVhEM6D_L02xUDXHgTJ0nGSwqlA/s1600/IMG_1094.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zNqQ2VSHkps/VucweIVPhfI/AAAAAAAAD6g/fI5BqPpVhEM6D_L02xUDXHgTJ0nGSwqlA/s1600/IMG_1094.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
i also jumped into the 'miss babs' weave-a-long. i have several skeins <strike>buried</strike> stored in the stash and i chose ~celebration~ in a lovely lace weight. i couldn't be happier with how it turned out and will brave the masses to hit her booth in may.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WAs2wsyLlmw/Vucv19iKI3I/AAAAAAAAD6Y/hTmDF6h3Mv80bpFlk5oy6taElYHvPpVmA/s1600/IMG_1136.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WAs2wsyLlmw/Vucv19iKI3I/AAAAAAAAD6Y/hTmDF6h3Mv80bpFlk5oy6taElYHvPpVmA/s1600/IMG_1136.JPG" /></a></div>
yes, another poncho. this was a birthday gift and the recipient was very specific about the design. purple and exactly like the first ones that i had done. the purple was easy, i had a bunch left over from a would-be sweater. i warped up the new kromski loom only to discover that i really needed to use a larger heddle. i pulled it off and it was draped over the living room chairs for several days. when i finally got past my mad, i discovered that there would probably not be enough to do the entire project. amythefibergoddess to the rescue. we tried overdying some of my yarn with poor success, so we used a skein of her corriedale farm yarn. it was genius! just enough difference in texture to add to the design and the color was spot-on. i had big plans to add knitted elements and fancy it all up.... but the birthday girl was firm. so it is just what she asked for.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zVn7rUafDTQ/Vucv1mVhGuI/AAAAAAAAD6Y/XWxqYyoENlUzt4m3zoOh2J1N26XQEI97w/s1600/IMG_1132.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zVn7rUafDTQ/Vucv1mVhGuI/AAAAAAAAD6Y/XWxqYyoENlUzt4m3zoOh2J1N26XQEI97w/s1600/IMG_1132.JPG" /></a></div>
amy also had some yarn that she had woven into a table runner and tossed the left overs my way. i was pretty darn sure that i wouldn't have enough, so i taught myself a new stitch. the leno.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2ktPG8geo6w/Vucv15OsH9I/AAAAAAAAD6Y/eE067oxlBvov1e8NbiTD9mAUpLkzD_AfQ/s1600/IMG_1134.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2ktPG8geo6w/Vucv15OsH9I/AAAAAAAAD6Y/eE067oxlBvov1e8NbiTD9mAUpLkzD_AfQ/s320/IMG_1134.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
i must admit it really came out well and looks great on the table. i've got another wrap on the loom and have finally gotten around to completing my spinning project. i was gifted with polwarth/silk roving in the stunning ~hemlock reserve colorway. it's spun, plied and washed. i have 330 yards of a dk weight yarn. i'm working on the complementary color for the noro-shawl.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JjnT_tYWBuA/Vucv1Wx97HI/AAAAAAAAD6Y/dEb_UAg2p3wof3hzMpmen1pDSFsTft1ng/s1600/IMG_1135.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JjnT_tYWBuA/Vucv1Wx97HI/AAAAAAAAD6Y/dEb_UAg2p3wof3hzMpmen1pDSFsTft1ng/s1600/IMG_1135.JPG" /></a></div>
i've also been helping a friend learn to knit. she has taken to it like a duck to water and wanted to knit a poncho. so..... we're doing it as a knit-a-long. side 1 is done and we completed the lace part of side 2 today. she is going out of town for spring break and wanted to get to the mindless part of the knitting. with the way she is going, i need to pick up my pace to be ready to put this baby together.<br />
<br />
whew..... that's it for now. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HrjBbCxRm0U/VqjdNdMRKBI/AAAAAAAAD5s/Rxci1THaLkw/s1600/IMG_1069.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HrjBbCxRm0U/VqjdNdMRKBI/AAAAAAAAD5s/Rxci1THaLkw/s1600/IMG_1069.PNG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
suits her perfectly! interesting thing about dropping subtle hints: she has no recollection of the conversation and when i gave her the scarf, it almost sounded like i could try for a poncho. or she was just trying to be nice ;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8timudbStH8/VqjdNYM6LCI/AAAAAAAAD5g/AIDLymVRZq0/s1600/IMG_1070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8timudbStH8/VqjdNYM6LCI/AAAAAAAAD5g/AIDLymVRZq0/s1600/IMG_1070.JPG" /></a></div>
amythefibergoddess and i are at it again in the dye kitchen. the <a href="http://tinaturnerknits.com/home.html">second annual artisan market</a> is fast approaching on february 27th, and yesterday we did sock yarn......<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-keiPlmVhYJY/VqjdNQYDo1I/AAAAAAAAD5c/0LQVuwhzETc/s1600/IMG_1075.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-keiPlmVhYJY/VqjdNQYDo1I/AAAAAAAAD5c/0LQVuwhzETc/s1600/IMG_1075.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
saturated, colors... oh so lovely. as we were rinsing up, amy suggested that i take some of her merino/tencel home to try on the loom. i could not say no. she is a sorceress!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u5iz0ij-NAQ/VqjdNqcwelI/AAAAAAAAD5k/R-Fhjp1YEAU/s1600/IMG_1077.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u5iz0ij-NAQ/VqjdNqcwelI/AAAAAAAAD5k/R-Fhjp1YEAU/s1600/IMG_1077.JPG" /></a></div>
warped my schacht using a different technique. instead of tying to the front beam, you use cotton yarn to reduce wast. so far, so good...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ibi415Avcq4/VqjdNytHH9I/AAAAAAAAD5o/eps4tHK9E10/s1600/IMG_1078.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ibi415Avcq4/VqjdNytHH9I/AAAAAAAAD5o/eps4tHK9E10/s1600/IMG_1078.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
i zipping right along!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO_gfNZBX47pnWzhkRpMLQRCmVHqwGyBzTGQOUxqCOVe949g6qPQbln7nKUFsY1Qk48uZVnN0iclOe0EBBLPmoLAmmfgmo71VAHfBxqa477CJlgzvCs5g9wqeNNv2OWLKbAYlyikGurkia/s1600/IMG_1066.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO_gfNZBX47pnWzhkRpMLQRCmVHqwGyBzTGQOUxqCOVe949g6qPQbln7nKUFsY1Qk48uZVnN0iclOe0EBBLPmoLAmmfgmo71VAHfBxqa477CJlgzvCs5g9wqeNNv2OWLKbAYlyikGurkia/s1600/IMG_1066.JPG" /></a></div>
this is a terrible photo, but it's the first project off the new loom. i wanted to try it out before i started my sisters holiday gift and i wanted to have it be something that would be in my life. it's a subtle gray houndstooth pattern scarf for my patient spouse. not a peep has come out since the looms have started to arrive. it will be a lovely valentines gift, don't you think?<br />
after the practice, i warped up for my christmas craft. amythefibergoddess helped my dye some wool early in december in anticipation of this project. i wanted a deep, scarlet but was equally pleased with the rich plum that the yarn became.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A-KRvZWQbOE/VqI8jxJAQhI/AAAAAAAAD4k/iHGXgP2r3Vs/s1600/IMG_8278.jpgs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A-KRvZWQbOE/VqI8jxJAQhI/AAAAAAAAD4k/iHGXgP2r3Vs/s320/IMG_8278.jpgs.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
as i was warping, i was aftraid that i would run out of yarn, so i used the lighter skeins to add in a subtle stripe. it wove beautifully, just the size i was going for. i seemed the edge and voila.... a poncho. this is the third one i've done and i couldn't have been happier with the finished product. <br />
i need to make one for me, but i've got lots of other items to work on......<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1WjunGPPLzI/VqI8g1eq90I/AAAAAAAAD4Q/w08557UOw0I/s1600/IMG_1064.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1WjunGPPLzI/VqI8g1eq90I/AAAAAAAAD4Q/w08557UOw0I/s1600/IMG_1064.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VWNTkn9EkVY/VqI8gkscjxI/AAAAAAAAD4c/jj7ve_vtW7I/s1600/IMG_1065.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VWNTkn9EkVY/VqI8gkscjxI/AAAAAAAAD4c/jj7ve_vtW7I/s1600/IMG_1065.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aOfKgCEt8Js/VqI8hKxU2wI/AAAAAAAAD4U/Suft9AF2B6o/s1600/IMG_1067.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aOfKgCEt8Js/VqI8hKxU2wI/AAAAAAAAD4U/Suft9AF2B6o/s1600/IMG_1067.JPG" /></a></div>
sarves are flying out of here! i've been experimenting with patterns, colors and yarn weight. it's been exciting to find yarns that i purchased (and had forgotten) that work for weaving....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A-gO42tRViE/VqI8hQ4QZ0I/AAAAAAAAD4Y/wDpP_7JQs6k/s1600/IMG_1068.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A-gO42tRViE/VqI8hQ4QZ0I/AAAAAAAAD4Y/wDpP_7JQs6k/s1600/IMG_1068.JPG" /></a></div>
this beauty is a merino/mohair blend that i bought the first yeat i went to the new england fiber fest. the colors are stunning, subtle changes in warm tones. it's going as a birthday gift to live with my niece. <br />
i also joined a weave-a-long on ravlery (didn't i say that i'd jumped in with a splash?) using miss bab's yarn. sure enough, i found several skeins and i wanted to try out the lace weight yarn before i started. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wA_4Pw7LjOQ/VqI8g7SgxbI/AAAAAAAAD4I/fnftwRjxX-Q/s1600/IMG_1063.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wA_4Pw7LjOQ/VqI8g7SgxbI/AAAAAAAAD4I/fnftwRjxX-Q/s1600/IMG_1063.JPG" /></a></div>
it's all ready to go. i'm adding in the purple to try for some subtle color changes in the fabric. wrapknothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07524914719420225748noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439053855897840810.post-24182359296222126012016-01-01T16:47:00.002-05:002016-01-01T20:04:25.583-05:00wrapping up the old-year....things got away from me there at the end of 2015. finishing up the semester, holiday baking, holiday knitting, holiday weaving...... but i got it all done. voila.....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L1VgjOaRrxg/VobsdAN98_I/AAAAAAAAD3Y/EfxC76mUteg/s1600/IMG_1021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L1VgjOaRrxg/VobsdAN98_I/AAAAAAAAD3Y/EfxC76mUteg/s1600/IMG_1021.JPG" /></a></div>
we constructed our usual five gingerbread houses. there was a moment of frustration when in my hast i didn't let the frosting set. i was able to selvage all but one, so grandpa got the crooked roof. we delivered them quickly so the four pawed creatures would not be tempted to investigate those yummy smells. and boy, did they have the most amazing aroma! i'm not sure what i did differently, but they smelled fabulous. the wine cardigans were gifts for my honey's work associates. the ladies had pearl necklaces and the dudes had buttons. i knew well in advance that he needed these, but it was down to the wire to get them finished.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YNhblZb8Ai4/VobsdEwP4UI/AAAAAAAAD3I/sYTAzZNR9As/s1600/IMG_1025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YNhblZb8Ai4/VobsdEwP4UI/AAAAAAAAD3I/sYTAzZNR9As/s1600/IMG_1025.JPG" /></a></div>
i have fallen in love with houndstooth. really, its more like lust. i just can't seem to weave enough of these. this one was gifted to a very dear friend who is quite finicky about apparel. i was assured that he would love it, but until he put in on (and then didn't take it off.... the entire afternoon) i was wringing my paws :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZT61DNc1QkA/VobsjJNUSGI/AAAAAAAAD3g/Vn1NE1oL8V0/s1600/IMG_0994.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZT61DNc1QkA/VobsjJNUSGI/AAAAAAAAD3g/Vn1NE1oL8V0/s1600/IMG_0994.JPG" /></a></div>
these were gifted to our yoga friends. we've been going to this class as a family twice a week for the entire year. you can really build a yoga family when doing down-dog together!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gwExndUS38o/VobsdPPkYdI/AAAAAAAAD20/D4bq0rH6tZE/s1600/IMG_1026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gwExndUS38o/VobsdPPkYdI/AAAAAAAAD20/D4bq0rH6tZE/s1600/IMG_1026.JPG" /></a></div>
santa left this under my tree......<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nD5xQEoF-0E/VobsdqF8fcI/AAAAAAAAD3A/S87r1dM_rb8/s1600/IMG_1027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nD5xQEoF-0E/VobsdqF8fcI/AAAAAAAAD3A/S87r1dM_rb8/s1600/IMG_1027.JPG" /></a></div>
a 32 inch kromski harp rigid heddle loom and stand. i love my schacht to pieces and wanted to have one with a bit more width. we're still in the early dating stage, trying to figure each other out..... but i did get this done<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S8dBPlO4kc8/Vobsd06C_iI/AAAAAAAAD3Q/eiNY3R_Ouk4/s1600/IMG_1030.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S8dBPlO4kc8/Vobsd06C_iI/AAAAAAAAD3Q/eiNY3R_Ouk4/s1600/IMG_1030.JPG" /></a></div>
remember the yarn amythefibergoddess dyed for me? well here it is woven, washed and drying. i was afraid the i was going to run out of yarn as i was warping, so i mixed in some of the lighter weft yarn and the stripes are stunning. it's all stitched and wrapped, waiting under the tree for our family christmas celebration tomorrow. i'll post photo's of the recipient modeling it :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dfsIq5CvBw4/VobseMrd8nI/AAAAAAAAD3U/wKVRbcB-riA/s1600/IMG_1032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dfsIq5CvBw4/VobseMrd8nI/AAAAAAAAD3U/wKVRbcB-riA/s1600/IMG_1032.JPG" /></a></div>
while i love the width, it has become a challenging finding a spot that is safe and yet i'm still part of the conversation. until the tree comes down this is the best spot.<br />
i'm certain that 2016 will be filled with crazy, fibery adventures!wrapknothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07524914719420225748noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439053855897840810.post-68370137626337106522015-12-18T22:13:00.000-05:002015-12-18T22:13:00.418-05:00It's been over a month.....and I realize there have been no updates. I kept meaning too.... But (fill in the blank with busy, busy, busy:)<br />
<span id="goog_1759478935"></span>The tree was harvested and is the prettiest ever. I wanted it to fill the spot from floor to ceiling and does it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NIlxvP6C3R8/VnRDMya7BwI/AAAAAAAAD2U/mWTDCvzM3G0/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NIlxvP6C3R8/VnRDMya7BwI/AAAAAAAAD2U/mWTDCvzM3G0/s320/image.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
Christmas on the farm was the first weekend in December. It gets better each year. Amythefibergoddess brings a perfect group of vendors together to fill her garage with all sorts of gifts.... Ornaments, soaps, baskets, fiber, yarn... A complete shopping opportunity.<br />
I've done some of this....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bNC4t8iIDHM/VnRDE_VglpI/AAAAAAAAD18/xxqSStJFXcY/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bNC4t8iIDHM/VnRDE_VglpI/AAAAAAAAD18/xxqSStJFXcY/s1600/image.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-77bHnUz2qcM/VnRDG_ghntI/AAAAAAAAD2M/25iuIq92Wb0/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-77bHnUz2qcM/VnRDG_ghntI/AAAAAAAAD2M/25iuIq92Wb0/s1600/image.jpeg" /></a></div>
yes, there was lots of grape juice involved but i assure you it did not interfere with the end result. we even managed to do this....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gvLOfBPvLkk/VnRDDxglzKI/AAAAAAAAD10/i4Fz9cbMPaI/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gvLOfBPvLkk/VnRDDxglzKI/AAAAAAAAD10/i4Fz9cbMPaI/s1600/image.jpeg" /></a></div>
get amy started with her new loom. it's a kromski harp ( and i think she really likes it). as we draw closer to the end of the year, i've been baking, shopping, wrapping and finishing some last minute knits. this....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MhcWtM349eQ/VnRDDEv4c9I/AAAAAAAAD1s/OfgUhpvKuUQ/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MhcWtM349eQ/VnRDDEv4c9I/AAAAAAAAD1s/OfgUhpvKuUQ/s320/image.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
has been a great opportunity to get them done. sadly it is also the perfect place to grade papers, so that has taken precedent. there's still lots to do and more to show and i'm making a vow to do it more regularly......<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y3VA8oibYpk/VnRDCWPX1vI/AAAAAAAAD1k/SGJja7gK5B4/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y3VA8oibYpk/VnRDCWPX1vI/AAAAAAAAD1k/SGJja7gK5B4/s320/image.jpeg" width="173" /></a></div>
and i leave you with a wee reindeer!wrapknothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07524914719420225748noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439053855897840810.post-11119539532607736672015-11-15T10:44:00.001-05:002015-11-15T10:44:32.114-05:00going down another rabbit hole......that amythefibergoddess is full of surprises. she has quite a history with creative expression. i don't know why i'm still surprised when she tells me that 'i've done that'. this week it was baskets. the real deal baskets (not those wimpy, commercial ones). she gifted me with a stunning round one for my birthday this year. i've been using it to transport my little hansen spinning wheel and it is just the cats pajamas! well, when she bought it, there was a conversation with the basket weaver about classes, materials,techniques. as a result, we had us a basket weaving class. amy ordered the basket pieces and marcia and i fell in line. just like every art, there are levels of quality, tools, styles..... and we wanted to do it right.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4j0vGNeAQng/VkPzoaR5a3I/AAAAAAAAD0s/qxd33n_3OkQ/s1600/IMG_0943.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4j0vGNeAQng/VkPzoaR5a3I/AAAAAAAAD0s/qxd33n_3OkQ/s1600/IMG_0943.JPG" /></a></div>
we cut our reed the day before so it would be ready to go. linda (the basket teacher) was absolutely amazing! while guiding us along, she shared basket history, techniques, styles and all sorts of awesome stuff. when i say guide, i really mead guide. as she kept telling us this was "your basket" and there are no "basket police", so if she put her hands on it to demonstrate.... she ripped it all out so we were <strike>forced</strike> able to do it ourselves. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VDx80MijBQA/VkPzoW7HKUI/AAAAAAAAD0A/oMjhUpnBuj4/s1600/IMG_0945.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VDx80MijBQA/VkPzoW7HKUI/AAAAAAAAD0A/oMjhUpnBuj4/s1600/IMG_0945.JPG" /></a></div>
marvelous marcia was zipping along, amy has done this before, so i was the remedial weaver. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JziG1yUa3hM/VkPzo7s1-tI/AAAAAAAAD0Y/hqN8XrM319s/s1600/IMG_0948.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JziG1yUa3hM/VkPzo7s1-tI/AAAAAAAAD0Y/hqN8XrM319s/s1600/IMG_0948.JPG" /></a></div>
of course, i just couldn't follow the pattern. i wanted a different pattern and color. linda generously offered her santa-sized bag of reeds to borrow from....<br />

i've taken several items off my loom. i'm just a weaving nut! i've been working strictly by trial and error. i'm taking projects that have been done on the cricket and translating them to the larger loom. i love to sit here in the evening a watch my progress. i made a poncho a few weeks ago, actually it was the second thing that i did. amytheifbergoddess is knitting one, and i was certain that i could <strike>mangle</strike>, <strike>mutilate</strike>, transcribe it for the loom. i used patons nature wool.... its inexpensive with a wide color palette. the fringe was a struggle and required every hand in this house being pressed into action. i mailed it to my sister.. hoping that it was stylish enough to work into her wardrobe.... or be a dog blanket :)<br />

how cool is she? i have only a vague idea how i made it, so i tossed another one on. that is just a nice and is being gifted this weekend....i promise to post some photos.<br />
and that baby hat? well, mr. logan arrived weighing in at 9# 15 3/4 oz ( really, that's 10 pounds of baby) no fears that the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pumpkin-hats">pumpkin hat</a> would be too small.<br />

i'm half way through the blanket for baby lewis. looking at it this week, i realized i should move this up on the que.<br />
but really? it's all about the weaving right now. took my loom out to jen adams for some advice. she was able to help me restring it, sort out the stand and order me new heddles. schacht really came through. the heddles are a special order because they don't have them in stock for older equipment. the best part is its just a bit more in cost over the standard ones. i'm anxiously awaiting their arrival. in the mean time....... it's halloween!<br />

saturday dawned sunny and cold. lots of layers under our hand-knit shawls! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Pp0vlv5qVbs/ViRD7-gwj_I/AAAAAAAADxI/KnA-9NWIabU/s1600/IMG_0894.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Pp0vlv5qVbs/ViRD7-gwj_I/AAAAAAAADxI/KnA-9NWIabU/s1600/IMG_0894.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the entrance line snaked back into the parking lot, so we stood chatting with neighbors waiting to get in. our mission was to get into the hansen booth so amy had a choice of espinners. after years of seeing my love affair, she decided to join in the fun.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
it was a match made in heaven. the company is re-working their wheels and attachments, and amy had her mind set on a specific configuration... and found it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

we stood in lines, fondled yarns and roving, made lots of fabulous purchases.... and can't wait to do it all again!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

my haul. roving from itw, fiber optix, yarn for my loom from lisa souza and a touch of twist. i've already started spinning and weaving, the excitement hasn't faded.<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
